“SPOTit: Combatting Fake News in Social Media” will focus on helping young people make informed decisions about the content they come across on social media by developing their media literacy skills.

The project was launched on February 19th 2021 and brings together a consortium from Estonia, Cyprus, Ireland, Greece, and Slovenia.

SPOTit will develop innovative resources, consisting of a Training Package, a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) for Combatting Fake News, and Digital Escape Rooms. The first two outputs will support youth workers seeking to build young people’s media literacy competences, and most importantly advancing their critical thinking skills. The Digital Escape Rooms will give young people the chance to develop numerous competencies and skills including media literacy, critical thinking, and problem solving, as they will use technology to solve a series of puzzles.
